Module 2 Dynamics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Organizational Settings
Recognize the importance of understanding the root causes of workplace inequalities in order to pursue change.

Module 3 Opportunities and Challenges of Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Delve into the business and corporate social responsibility case, and its associated challenges, for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Module 4 Managing and Leading Transformative Change
Learn about the role of servant and courageous leadership when managing change in an organization.

Module 5 Communication Strategies for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Learn how to leverage nonviolent communication principles and crisis management strategies.

Module 6 Developing Metrics for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Investigate the diversity, equity, and inclusion climate of an organization to promote change.

Academic Director

Alvin B. Tillery, Jr.

Director of the Center for the Study of Diversity and Democracy, Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University

Tillery’s research and teaching interests focus on generating key insights about how to lead change around diversity, equity, and inclusion. He is one of the nation’s leading experts on the Black Lives Matter movement, and he has also written extensively about presidential leadership on race relations. His book Between Homeland and Motherland: Africa, U.S. Foreign Policy and Black Leadership in America won the W.E.B. Du Bois Distinguished Book Award from the National Conference of Black Political Scientists. His papers have appeared in the American Political Science Review, Political Research Quarterly, the Journal of Race, Ethnicity and Politics and many other journals.
